Renewable Websites: A Smarter Way to Build, Own and Refresh Your Website

A website that keeps moving with your business.

Section 1

Overview

Most businesses approach websites in one of two ways.

They either pay for a full website build upfront, then leave it alone for years until it becomes outdated, or they pay for ongoing marketing and technical support through a monthly retainer.

Our renewable website scheme is different.

It is designed for businesses that want a professionally built website without having to find the full project cost upfront, while also making sure their website does not become old, unsupported or out of date over time.

Instead of treating your website as a one-off project, we treat it as a long-term digital asset that is hosted, maintained, supported and renewed on a planned cycle.

Section 2

How the renewable website scheme works

When you first come to us for a renewable website, you pay an initial deposit towards the design and build of your new website.

After that, your ongoing monthly website fee covers your hosting, essential website support and a contribution towards the remaining balance of the website build.

Over a three-year period, that balance is gradually paid down through your monthly payments.

At the end of the three years, your original website has been paid off and you own it.

You are then entitled to a like-for-like rebuild on the most modern framework we are using at that time, without needing to pay the original upfront deposit again.

Your monthly payments continue, and the three-year renewal cycle resets.

In simple terms, rather than paying for a website once and watching it slowly age, you have a planned route to keeping your website modern every few years.

Section 3

What happens after three years?

After three years, your website has been paid off.

At that point, you have two clear options.

You can keep the website you have, because it is yours.

Or, you can continue with the renewable website scheme and receive a like-for-like rebuild using the most modern platform, framework and build standards we are working with at the time.

Because we already have your existing content, page structure, layout and general website direction, you do not need to pay the same initial deposit again.

The new version of the website is then paid down over the next three-year cycle through your ongoing monthly fee.

This helps your business avoid the common problem of needing to fund a completely new website from scratch every few years.

Section 4

What does “like-for-like rebuild” mean?

A like-for-like rebuild means we rebuild the website around the same core structure, content and purpose as the existing site.

The aim is not to reinvent the whole business, rewrite pages or redesign the entire customer journey from scratch.

Instead, we take what already exists, rebuild it using our current preferred framework and modern standards, and give the website a fresh, technically up-to-date foundation.

If you want to significantly change the website structure, add new functionality, create new content, or reposition the business during the renewal rebuild, we can either quote for that separately or, where appropriate, use part of your existing monthly retainer allocation to cover the additional work.

For example, if you are already on a monthly retainer with us and the extra work can be planned safely across the rebuild period, we may be able to allocate a portion of your monthly hours towards those changes. This gives you more flexibility without always needing a separate project cost.

Where we can be flexible, we will be. Our aim is always to work with clients in a practical and accommodating way.

Section 5

How this is different from a standalone website build?

A standalone website build is the traditional route.

You pay for the full project, we design and build the website, and once it is complete, the website is handed over to you.

You may then choose to host it with us, maintain it with us, support it through a retainer, or manage it separately.

That route works well for businesses that want to pay for the full website upfront and own it immediately.

The renewable website scheme is for businesses that would rather spread the cost over time, keep the website hosted and supported, and have a planned route to a modern rebuild every three years.

Section 6

Why businesses choose a renewable website?

A renewable website gives you a more manageable way to invest in your online presence.

It helps you avoid large rebuild costs every few years, keeps your website on a planned improvement cycle, and gives you confidence that your site will not be left behind as technology, design standards and user expectations move on.

It also gives you a clearer long-term arrangement.

You know what you are paying each month, what that payment contributes towards, and when your next rebuild becomes available.

For many businesses, it provides the practical middle ground between paying for a full website upfront and waiting until an old website eventually needs replacing.

Section 7

What is included?

Your renewable website arrangement typically includes:

  • Website hosting.
  • Essential technical support.
  • Security and maintenance checks.
  • A planned three-year renewal route.
  • A like-for-like rebuild at the end of the cycle.
  • No repeat upfront deposit when the renewal cycle begins again.

The exact scope, monthly cost and build specification will depend on the size and complexity of your website.

Section 8

Built for long-term value

Your website should not be something you build once and forget about until it becomes a problem.

With our renewable website scheme, you get a professionally built website, a manageable monthly payment, ongoing hosting and support, and a clear path to keeping the site modern over the long term.

It gives you the website you need now, with a plan for the version you will need next.
